1.     Purpose

 

      The committee is responsible for the management of the church’s property, which includes buildings, grounds, furnishings and equipment. It shall determine the appropriate use of church buildings and facilities. It shall supervise the church’s custodial staff. Its duties include:

 

2.     Buildings

 

a. Maintain interior and exterior of all buildings.

 

b. Monitor all utilities.

 

c. Establish work duties and supervise custodial staff.

 

d. Supervise janitorial supplies.

 

e. Ensure security of facilities. When necessary, post church property and prosecute violators.

 

f. Establish rules and guidelines for operating utilities for all users of buildings.

 

3.     Furnishings and Equipment

 

a. Care for all furnishings.

 

b. Maintain inventory list of furnishings and equipment.

 

c. Organize and arrange for annual cleaning and proper disposal of materials in storage areas.

 

d. Be responsible for planning and budgeting for the repair, replacement, and disposal of damaged or deteriorated furnishings and equipment.

 

4.     Grounds and/or Service Contract Maintenance

 

a.    Provide care and maintenance of property grounds.

 

b.    Supervise yard work performed by custodian and/or contracted service.

 

c.    Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.

 

5.     Miscellaneous

 

a. Prepare an annual operating budget for the committee and upon approval; operate committee in accordance with same.
