1. Purpose

 

      The committee is responsible for challenging the congregation in ministries of personal, social healing, and reconciliation in the communities in which St Andrews Presbyterian Church bears witness, and to lead the congregation to participate in the mission of the whole Church in the world. Its duties include:

 

a. Provide the congregation with materials, information, speakers, and opportunities for contributions and participation in Global, National, and Local Missions.

 

b. Educate the congregation on the various functions of different missions and opportunities to volunteer.

 

c. Provide opportunities for non-church members to participate in missions and activities sponsored by St Andrews.

 

d. Maintain contacts and knowledge of groups used to expand and extend our mission programs and opportunities.

 

e. Promote Peace and Peacemaking in our community and world.

 

f. Identify and maintain a list of Church members interested in supporting various mission opportunities in the Church.

 

g.   Blood Drive

   

    i.    Maintain contact with Blood Bank and schedule dates for visits

 

    ii.   Advertise visits and encourage participation

 

    iii. Prepare sign-up sheets for appointments

 

    iv. Coordinate all necessary arrangements during Blood Mobile visits

 

    i.    Prepare an annual operating budget for the committee and upon approval; operate committee in accordance with same.
